Happs launches crowdfunding campaign supported by Koen Wauters

To take their educational game Karaton to the next level, Telenet Kickstart alumnus Happs has launched a crowdfunding campaign. Supported by none other than Koen Wauters, the campaign has already collected 35 percent of its 20,000 EUR target with 24 days remaining.

Hannes Hauwaert, co-founder of Happs, is pleased with the results so far: “This extra funding will help us optimize our game and web platform, so that parents and speech therapists can follow up on the progress of each individual child more closely. We also plan on collaborating with an author to create a new storyline and keep the children motivated.”

Telenet Kickstart mentor Jesse Van Leemputte comments: “I’ve been coaching Happs from the very beginning and I have always admired what they’re doing with Karaton. From personal experience, I know all too well the challenges children with dyslexia have to deal with. Most startups find themselves faced with funding issues at a certain point, and that’s where crowdfunding campaigns like this create a lot of opportunities. Happs’ unwavering commitment and focus to address these challenges is commendable, and I am confident Karaton will prove to be a great success.”
