Mission

Belgian startup incubators join forces to take young entrepreneurs to New York. And to the next level.

Belgium may be small, but Belgian startups are hot, hot hot. So let’s light New York on fire and take our startups there.

The initiative:

startups without borders

To boldly go where few Belgian startups have gone before

Today, the Belgian startup landscape looks a lot like, well, … the Belgian landscape. Plenty of initiatives and promising creative solutions but in need of extra opportunities to cross the borders. By going abroad we highlight the potential of joining forces, building a stronger Belgian startup community while strengthening our business impact.

The startup
delegation:

1 team,
1 mission

We’re from Belgium, pretty ambitious Belgium

Kickstarting a unique collaboration, we gathered our entrepreneurial troops and chartered an airplane for:

  • 3 leading startup incubators: iMinds’ iStart, Start it @KBC and Telenet Kickstart, powered by Idealabs
  • StartupUps.be, Belcham, Flanders Investment & Trade
  • 16 promising startups
  • 5 young digital reporters

A merry travel company on a mighty mission.

The mission:

Globalize
our local
talents

Dream a little American dream

As startup incubators / accelerators, our everyday mission is to stimulate and facilitate entrepreneurship. And it’s inevitable for startups to sometimes think bigger than Belgium, so we should support them in doing so. Not ‘cause we love to see them leave, but because we love to see them grow. Whether that’s on Belgian or foreign soil.

The startup
destination:

New York

If you can make it there, you can make it anywhere

American entrepreneurs (and citizens, for that matter) are known to be ambitious, self confident and optimistic. So let’s pick their brains and their attitude. Let’s soak up the energy of the Big Apple. And while we’re at it, let’s show them what we’ve got up our startup sleeves.
With joined forces, we can and will put Belgium on the worldwide startup map!

“An initiative like BBNY is fantastic; sometimes it's a smart idea to take our entrepreneurs out of their Belgian comfort zone.”
