A day in the life of… Co-oking

A morning at Co-oking is all about welcoming new people in the kitchen, showing interested chefs around and getting them to talk about who they are and what they do. Some of these guys are just in the process of getting a business plan ready so it’s generally the part where we step in and tweak things around to get the engine started and guide them in our network. If you like wrapping your head around new projects in the food industry, this place provides. Some other visitors are already hands on and want to start as early as possible, so we provide support in registration with AFSCA / FAVV, advice for the production and contacts to grow their business.

Some mornings, we may get up very early to welcome new clients who start at dawn prepping for lunch and other afternoon events.

One of the perks of working around such an environment is that a few catering chefs that are around to cook their delicious meals and banquets sometimes spoil the team with some of the finest leftovers and surplus that gets around. One might even notice we developed a taste for the refined and fancy food!

After an afternoon coffee, we are always ready to get surprise visits from interested contacts in the network, regular clients who need to store or deliver their product and even the almighty AFSCA (FAVV).

There is quite an activity happening at night in our kitchens, we call them the night owls, the dough masters and the overworked veggie chefs. They thrive and prep for the next day event so that their products are the freshest. It’s all made for their convenience, as flexible as possible, as we are open 24/7. We might as well be in the kitchen at this time, in one of our monthly food entrepreneur meetup, pitching, tasting, networking and giving feedback to fellow entrepreneurs about their project or product.

At Co-oking, we are all about finding new projects, building a solid food culture and community and getting great quality products out in belgian plates!
